Privacy Policy

This is an English translation of the Korean Privacy Policy, provided for convenience. If the two versions differ in any way, the Korean version prevails.

dama (우리냉장고, the “Service”) takes your personal information seriously and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea and other applicable laws (the linked statute is published in Korean by the Korean government). This policy explains what information the Service processes, and for what purposes.

Article 1 (Personal information we collect)

The Service collects and uses the following personal information.

• Google account information: email address, name and profile picture (information provided to us when you sign in with Google)
• Refrigerator data: the item names, use-by dates and storage methods you register

While you use the Service, access logs and similar records may be generated and collected automatically for operating the Service and analysing errors.

Article 2 (Purposes of collection and use)

• Identifying and authenticating members through Google sign-in
• Managing refrigerator items and use-by dates, and providing reminders when a use-by date is approaching
• Providing automatic item and use-by date suggestions from order history screenshots (OCR + AI)
• Operating the Service, improving quality and responding to incidents

Article 3 (Retention and use period)

• A member's personal information and refrigerator data are retained until the member withdraws, and are permanently destroyed without delay upon withdrawal.
• Where retention is required by applicable law, the information is kept for the period that law prescribes.

Article 4 (Handling of uploaded images)

Order history screenshots you upload for automatic item suggestions are used only temporarily, for text extraction (OCR) and suggestion processing. They are destroyed as soon as processing completes. They are not saved or retained on our servers.

Article 5 (Entrustment of processing and overseas transfer)

To provide automatic item and use-by date suggestions, the Service sends text extracted from uploaded images to the external artificial intelligence (LLM) services listed below. Personal information may be transferred outside Korea in this process.

Only the text needed for the suggestions is transmitted.

Article 6 (Handling of notifications)

Use-by date reminders are produced from the refrigerator items and use-by dates you have registered. No additional personal information is collected separately in order to send them.

Article 7 (Destruction of personal information)

When personal information is no longer needed — for example after a member withdraws or the retention period expires — it is permanently destroyed without delay, by a method that makes recovery or reproduction impossible.

Article 8 (Your rights as a data subject, and how to exercise them)

You may exercise the following rights at any time, and the Service will act on them without delay.

• Request access to your personal information
• Request correction of errors
• Request deletion
• Request suspension of processing, and withdraw consent

You can make such requests to the privacy officer below, in writing or by email.

Article 9 (Children under 14)

The Service does not accept sign-ups from children under the age of 14, and does not collect personal information from children under 14.

Article 11 (Changes to this policy)
